Amphora Red Blend

A Shiraz Cabernet blend with a twist! Made in clay Amphora.
A super smooth Shiraz Cabernet that appeals to everyone. Lashings of flavour with silky smooth tannins. We decided to make an Amphora Red as a homage to the Craft side of our philosophy. Amphora were the primary storage and winemaking vessel in ancient times and they work very differently to other common vessels used nowadays. Since the stone is porous it allows the slow ingress of air into the wine over time. This works in a similar way to a barrel, however the Amphora do not add any astringency to the wine and the longer the wine stays in Amphora the softer and smoother the wine becomes. The result is a very fruit driven wine that displays the flavours of the varieties you place in them with an ultra smooth finish. Perfect for a relaxing evening or a BBQ with friends.
